Becky Kagan Schott is an 5-time Emmy Award-winning underwater cinematographer, photographer, and technical diving instructor whose work can be seen on major networks including National Geographic, Discovery, and Travel Channel. She is co-owner of Liquid Productions, specializing in bringing back video from challenging underwater environments. Her projects have taken her all over the globe from exploring virgin shipwrecks in over 100 meters of water in the Great Lakes, rappelling into caves, filming under ice in the Arctic, and capturing images of marine life including sea lions, great whites and whales. Her experience working in remote locations around the world and facing the challenges of filming in extreme environments has earned her a reputation of producing quality images in some of the most demanding underwater environments.
Becky is extremely passionate about sharing the underwater world with others both through her imagery or teaching someone to dive. She’s been diving since she was 12 years old and began teaching scuba in 2000. She’s currently an active technical diving instructor and TDI Megaladon Rebreather Instructor. She has participated in dozens of expeditions that have earned her a place as a Fellow in the Explorers Club and in 2013 she was inducted into the Women Divers Hall of Fame.
One of her personal passions is documenting shipwrecks in North America’s Great Lakes. Becky has dived 4 out of 5 of the lakes and continues to be inspired by the stories of heroism and tragedy, history and stunningly preserved wrecks. Her images have been published in books, magazines, advertisements and used in gallery exhibits. Becky’s goal is to share her passion and not only capture beautiful imagery but also tell stimulating stories that can make an impact or inspire change. www.LiquidProductions.com / www.MegDiver.com
